Employees Participate in Ride Your Bike To Work Day

Thursday, 12 Central County Contra Costa Water District employees strapped on their safety helmets and commuted to work on their bicycles joining in the annual San Francisco Bay Area's Bike to Work Day.

Collectively, the District's bicyclists rode 116.5 miles one-way, averaging 9.7 miles each.  One biker however, whose commute was the longest, enjoyed/endured a 26-mile bike ride (WOW!) - Tim Harrison.

The additional bike commuters were:  Aaron Christensmith, Donna Cortes, Chris Dundon, Bob Eagle, Jim Freschi, Chris Hentz, Dan Jones, Mark Seedall (only a 23-mile ride), Sonja Stanchina, Alex Stroup, and Oliver Symonds.

The riders were treated to Energizer Stations along their route sponsored by Bike East Bay and additional items at lunch sponsored by the District's Wellness Program: a goodie bag filled with fun items, a delicious and healthy lunch, a Bike Clinic presented by Mark Seedall and assisted by Dan Jones, and a participant raffle.

Please enjoy the assortment of photos and please consider joining in this annual event next year!
